I wrote my first piece of literature as a play for my neighborhood friends as a teenager. I decided to do it again in 2004 for my peers to act out but it transitioned into a book "The Contract" and from there a screenplay "Why Won't You Marry Me" and shortly there-after I changed the title to "Dirty Dianna". But before the first book made its transition, I hammered out nine other short story books plus a book of poems. Along the way I taught myself how to format books and create covers. That saved tons of money and made everything else possible because I didn't have to hunt down a publisher and hope that they wouldn't reject me. In the beginning stages my editing was horrible. I enlisted the help of a couple of really intelligent friends that helped with the edit of a couple manuscripts and later paid a professional editor to re-edit those and to initiate an edit for two other titles. After seeing the methods used for editing, I picked up on it; for me it was like training. So now I'm back to editing but a whole lot better than I was, thanks to them. Now I'm like Prince; I'm playing every instrument. Well, not as great as Prince, but you catch my drift. So, once you get my books in your hand, with the exception of Green Leaf, Sarah, Child Support, Bloody Mary and Northside Murderapolis, I did everything but print them. I 'played every instrument' in the creation of The Contract, King Larry, Payback, Jungle Pussy, Power, and PoeTree. I'm sharing that because I want to inspire you. In literary work and a pursuit to become an author, there are so many barriers. It's nearly impossible to find a publisher, a literary agent, and so on. It makes things more doable if you learn as much as possible. It eliminates some of those barriers. I hope this inspires you! My favorite saying is "You got this." If you need any help at all please let me know.
And if your passion concerning this is reading only, thanks for purchasing my books and I appreciate you taking the time to visit my page. I actually can't thank you enough. Once proceeds are up there will be prizes, rewards and exciting activities for those who are in my book club to show my appreciation. Thank you!
